Automatic intelligent services for U-Space
AIRUS, “Automatic Intelligent Services for U-Space,” is the Joint Research Unit (UMI) that we drive together with the technological multinational everis ADS. Its aim is to achieve efficient and safe management of the traffic of hundreds of thousands of drones operating in any geographical area, including cities, and coexisting with other manned traffic. This involves the concept of UTM or U-Space, which is being defined at the European level and will be a significant accelerator for the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) market.
Development of a technological solution to meet the demand for highly automated services aligned with the new European U-SPACE paradigm, a regulatory and technical framework driven by European institutions to facilitate the efficient and safe integration of drones into airspace.

AIRUS will focus on the development of key services such as the validation of flight plans according to technical and regulatory requirements, the establishment of no-fly zones, airspace congestion relief, strategic and tactical resolution of collision conflicts, and real-time flight tracking. All of this will be accomplished through advanced functionalities that either do not currently exist or have a low level of maturity, contributing to the project’s competitiveness in international markets.
