Artificial Intelligence and robotics to detect and deactivate improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
Led by ITG and with the participation of Sener Aerospace, DIEDRO is a solution developed for the Ministry of Defense to remotely detect improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used in military or terrorist actions.
It combines the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) in a single reconnaissance vehicle capable of accurately locating the threat and proceeding to its subsequent deactivation or detonation.
Autonomous aerial and terrestrial robotics, advanced sensorics, artificial vision, artificial intelligence and deep learning, autonomous navigation or 2D and 3D mapping are some of the technologies implemented.
This solution facilitates the remote detection and deactivation of improvised explosive devices in particularly large, complex scenarios or with a high level of armed or terrorist conflict, allowing to minimize risks for armed forces personnel and the civilian population.
